ANKARA, Oct 8 — Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan today held calls with his counterparts from Spain and Jordan to discuss the conflict between Israel and the Islamist group Hamas, a Turkish foreign ministry source said.

The source provided no further information about the calls. Yesterday, Fidan discussed the fighting with his US, Qatari, Saudi, Iranian, Palestinian, and Egyptian counterparts as well, as Ankara said it was ready to help de-escalate the situation before it spreads to a wider region. — Reuters
