APRIL 25 — Rahmah is an Arabic word with a range of meanings depending on context. It is derived from the root word ra ha mim (رحم) which appears 339 times in the Quran, in nine derived forms.
Rahmah is generally translated as mercy as in verse 107 of Surah (Chapter) Al-Anbiya which is translated as follows:
“And We have not sent you oh Muhammad except as a mercy to the world (rahmatan lil-‘alamin).”

Rahmatan lil-‘alamin is an overarching concept in the Quran. In other words, rahmah is a Quranic concept.
