PETALING JAYA, April 18 — The Sime Darby Racing team will make its debut in the 2023 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, along with national Formula 3 racer Nazim Azman at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) from April 28 to 30.

The 21-year-old driver will compete in the PCCA PRO category with a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup in partnership with Earl Bamber Motosport (EBM).

Even though it will be his first time driving a GT, Nazim said the competition would be the best stage for him to start the season.

“I hope that I will do my best and finish in the top three to bring glory to our country.

“Even though it’s a different machine....it’s bigger than what I’ve driven previously, it’s a new experience and something I can learn,” he said at the media conference introducing the Sime Darby Racing team here today.

Malaysia has been given the honour to organise the 2023 season opener, and the season will continue in South Korea, Japan, Singapore and finally end in Shanghai, China.— Bernama
