NEW YORK, Oct 26 — Brooklyn-bred hip-hop record producer DJ Clark Kent who worked with Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Notorious B.I.G., Mariah Carey and others, has died at the age of 58.

Kent — whose real name is Rodolfo Franklin — died following a three-year battle with colon cancer, a statement shared on his Instagram today announced.
He was surrounded by his wife, Kesha, daughter Kabriah and son Antonio.
“The family is grateful for everyone’s love, support and prayers during this time and ask for privacy as they process this immense loss,” read the post.
Kent’s production credits include Jay-Z’s Brooklyn’s Finest, the Notorious B.I.G.’s Sky’s the Limit, Junior M.A.F.I.A.’s Player’s Anthem, Mariah Carey’s Loverboy, and Kanye West and Lil Pump’s I Love It among many others.
His death comes two months after veteran radio personality Angie Martinez announced plans to make her directorial debut with feature-length documentary God’s Favorite DJ: The Story of DJ Clark Kent.
