KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 7 — Five years after her first single titled Solo, Blackpink’s Jennie has returned with You & Me.
The dance pop track is a double single now available on all streaming platforms, and includes a remixed version of the song dubbed as You & Me (Coachella vers.) which premiered at Blackpink's Coachella show earlier this year.
The You & Me dance performance video which features Jennie dancing in front of a full-moon backdrop has garnered ten million views on YouTube in less than 24 hours.
And it's currently the number one trending video on YouTube for music with over a million likes.
The track was just released at noon yesterday.
According to portal Rolling Stone, Jennie performed the song during the opening night of Blackpink’s Born Pink World Tour in Seoul, South Korea in October last year.
The track also features cover art designed by Japanese manga artist Naoko Takeuchi, who’s the creator of the famous manga series Sailor Moon.
Aside from You & Me and Solo, Jennie was featured in One of the Girls featuring The Weeknd and Lily Rose- Depp, which is a song taken from the HBO series The Idol.
Jennie’s latest single comes amidst turbulent times for Blackpink as it was reported that some members of the group have decided to leave their label, YG Entertainment.
However, according to Reuters, YG in September said that negotiations are still ongoing and nothing is confirmed yet.
