KUALA LUMPUR, September 22 — Suga of KPop boyband BTS is set to begin his mandatory military service today, according to his label Big Hit Music.

The rapper whose real name is Min Yoon-gi, posted a heartfelt farewell message on fan platform Weverse yesterday before his enlistment.

“Hello, this is SUGA. I’m here to say goodbye! I’ve come all the way here thanks to the ARMYs and now it’s finally time,” he wrote.

“I will diligently fulfil my service and return. Please be careful of the cold autumn weather change. Stay healthy and see you all in 2025! ARMY!!! Thank you always and I love you.”

Many of BTS’ superfans known as Army shared their well wishes and support to Suga on social media.

Suga, 30, will be the third member of BTS to be enlisted into the army, following Jin, 30, and j-hope, 29.

Meanwhile, the remaining members RM, Jimin, Jungkook, and V have all released solo music projects this year.

All seven members have recently renewed their contracts with agency Hybe and are expected to reunite in 2025.
