KUALA LUMPUR, June 10 — Local buddy cop movie Polis Evo 3 has created a new franchise record by collecting RM41.3 million within 12 days of showing in cinemas.
According to portal Utusan, the third instalment in the franchise has taken over two of its previous movies, with Polis Evo 2 (2018) garnering RM23 million within 44 days and Polis Evo (2015) with over RM18 million.
Meanwhile, Polis Evo 3 is still currently topping the charts as the number one film in TGV Cinemas but has dropped down to number two in GSC Cinemas’ Top 10 films in the country.

The film helmed by director Syafiq Yusof is just a few millions shy from catching up to his brother Syamsul Yusof's Mat Kilau (2022) which collected RM47 million within 11 days of showing in cinemas.
Polis Evo 3 sees the return of Inspektor Sani (Zizan Razak) and Inspektor Khai (Shaheizy Sam) as they embark on a new mission to keep the peace in the country.
However, things begin to take a complicated turn as Inspektor Khai is haunted by the ghosts of his past.
The film also boasts a slew of famous actors including Sharnaaz Ahmad, Nora Danish, Syafiq Kyle, Douglas Lim, Farali Khan and Fauzi Nawawi.
Going into its third week, Polis Evo 3 will face off against other potential blockbusters including Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.
