KUALA LUMPUR, June 8 ― After an illustrious 27-year music career, Malaysia’s top songstress Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza wants to expand her role and help upcoming local music artists.

During a press conference for David Foster and Friends Asia 2023 yesterday (June 7), the 44-year-old shared the goals she wished to achieve after winning over 300 music awards in her career.

“I am grateful for what I have accomplished but it is past the time for me to compete with incredible up-and-coming young talents,” the singer said.

“Now is the time for me to keep what I have by giving the best performances I can give, because music is truly a part of me.

“Even if I am no longer active in singing, Iwill continue to support the country's music industry.”

The singer wants to promote local musicians and their songs by arranging traditional music concerts and bringing them to the international stage.

“Besides that, if I have the means, I want Malaysian music to return to the international stage such as the Royal Albert Hall, the plan is there but we are not rushing,” Siti added.

Aside from uplifting Malaysian music, Siti also wished to give back to the community and fans that have supported her from the start.

She said singing for charity and fundraising concerts for the poor has brought her great satisfaction and she will continue to do so.

Siti is set to perform alongside legendary hitmaker David Foster once again at the David Foster and Friends Asia 2023 concert at Mega Star Arena on August 7 at 8pm.

She will be performing alongside renowned international artists Michael Bolton, Peabo Bryson, Katharine McPhee and Loren Allred.

Concert ticket prices start at RM288 to RM988 and are available at www.myticket.asia
