KUALA LUMPUR, April 13 — Love him or hate him, you can’t deny celebrity entrepreneur Datuk Aliff Syukri Kamarzaman knows how to get your attention.

His new Raya song Chu Ku Chuk Raya which was released three weeks ago continues to receive flak for a multitude of things.

Chief among them was the outfit he wore in the music video — a skin-tight spandex body suit that quickly got called out for making a mockery of the traditional baju Melayu.

The 36-year-old cosmetics mogul explained that he chose it because he wanted to show off his nice body, mStar reported.

“It’s definitely not swimwear, it’s my cycling suit inspired by the Power Rangers that I designed myself,” he said.

For him, fashion is universal and if people can accept the strange things singer Aina Abdul wears, then why not accept what he wears?

“It’s a loss for me if I can’t flaunt my body,” he said. “I have a nice body.”

He continued by saying that everyone has a right to their own fashion sense and wear what they want, except going naked.

“What’s considered appropriate wear is subjective and relative, based on a person’s outlook and mentality,” he said.

“If someone thinks it’s obscene, then it’s obscene to him because he’s not used to it. But I wasn’t naked.”

Chu Ku Chuk Raya is currently trending on YouTube with over 528,000 views.

Despite all the criticism and one police report lodged against it, Aliff continues to promote his Raya song, even begging that it get airplay on radio and television stations.

“Please play my song, I’ve made all this effort to sing and my singing is good,” he said on Instagram yesterday.
