KUALA LUMPUR, April 5 — A police report has been lodged against entrepreneur Datuk Seri Aliff Syukri for his yet-to-be released Hari Raya music video (MV).

The Chu Ku Chuk Raya (initially named Cak Kun Cak Raya) MV teaser, which has Aliff and a few of his dancers clad in what appeared to be a spandex jumpsuit along with songkok and sampin, has been the subject of local social media users' wrath since it came out last week.

The official MV is set to be released tomorrow.

The teaser also resulted in the president of Persatuan Konsortium Industri Rakaman Malaysia (Irama), Ayob Abdul Majid, filing a police report against the 36-year-old yesterday.

Aliff told portal mStar that he was focused on attending to his wife who had just given birth to their sixth child on Monday.

“I apologise for not being able to answer any of the calls and messages because I’m currently busy as I just welcomed my baby boy.

“Regarding the current hot issue, I think it’s better for me to leave it to my lawyers so that they can take the appropriate steps,” Aliff said.

Previously, it was reported that Ayob had filed a police report against the Chu Ku Chuk teaser MV at the Dang Wangi police headquarters yesterday.

The Irama’s president said that the MV goes against Malaysian culture and deemed it as an insult to the holy month of Ramadan.

Although he admitted that the song is ‘good’ however, the MV was not suitable for general audience, especially the younger generation.

Ayob is also looking to meet up with the Communications and Digital Minister, Fahmi Fadzil, to talk more about the MV issue and to urge the ministry to reevaluate its Communications and Multimedia acts.

Aliff previously told New Straits Times that he stood by his Chu Ku Chuk MV concept, describing it as ‘art and entertainment’.

He added that there shouldn’t be any issue with the MV in the first place as it does not contain any sexy dance moves or nudity.

This is not the first time the cosmetics mogul has landed into trouble for his music video.

Last year, Aliff Syukri was charged with four counts of posting offensive material on his Instagram account for his Kelepok Raya music video, at the Sessions Court in Selangor.

He pleaded not guilty to all four charges.
