KUALA LUMPUR, Apr 3 — Veteran singer Rahim Maarof is in the intensive care unit (ICU) of Sungai Buloh Hospital after undergoing surgery.
His daughter Jasmin Rayhan told Malay Mail that her father was recovering.
It was reported that the 68-year-old suffered from high blood pressure.
“It is a private time now for the family and we hope people would stop spreading any false information. Please pray for him,” she said.
Rahim underwent surgery last Friday where doctors removed fluid from his brain.
Kota Baru-born Rahim rose to fame as a rock singer and composer in the 1980s and is best known for his hit songs such as Istana Menanti, Cinta Kristal, and Syakilla.
Dubbed the Godfather of Rock by fans, he has also been described as Malaysia’s Michael Bolton for his long, curly locks and soulful music.
