KUALA LUMPUR, March 17 — The upcoming documentary on member of popular pop band One Direction, Louis Tomlinson titled All of Those Voices will not be showing in Malaysia.
The announcement was made via the documentary’s official website where it stated the reason for the cancellation of screening as the producers and distributor of the film refusing to edit some sections of the documentary as requested by the Malaysian Film Censorship Board (LPF).
“To comply with local classification laws, the Malaysian censorship board required several sections of All of Those Voices to be edited.
“We feel making these changes would go against the ethics and inclusivity of this film, therefore the film producers and the global distributors have made the difficult decision to cancel the theatrical release in Malaysia,” read the statement on the website.
It however encouraged local fans to sign up to the site to find out more on how they can watch the documentary.
Local cinema operator GSC Cinemas has since taken to their social media to share the news, adding that they will be refunding those who bought the tickets for the film.
“We understand that this news may be disappointing for those who were looking forward to attending the event, and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.
“We would like to assure you that all ticket holders will be receiving a full refund, and we will process your refund in 14 working days.
“If you have purchased your tickets from e-kiosks, please return to the cinema for a refund.”

All of Those Voices will be opening in cinemas worldwide on March 22 with the premiere happening today.
LPF banned a couple of films last year due to restricted elements in it, including Marvel Studio’s Thor: Love and Thunder as well as Pixar’s animated feature Lightyear.
