KUALA LUMPUR, Marc 15 — Congratulatory messages continue to pour for Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh following her historic win at the 95th Academy Awards on Monday.

As some Malaysians were anticipating a public holiday following Yeoh’s win at the Oscars, a billboard operator in Klang Valley took the opportunity to celebrate the Ipoh-born’s milestone with a cheeky message.

Two digital out-of-home LED screens along Jalan Bangsar and Jalan Puchong in KL were seen displaying a message that read: “Forget public holiday. Let’s make March 13 Michelle Yeoh Day.”

Visual Retale chief executive officer Sailendra Kanagasundram told Malay Mail that he was thrilled and proud of Yeoh’s achievements for the country at the Oscars.

He thanked Yeoh for being an inspiration to all Malaysians.

“She is inspiring millions of Malaysians including our children that we as Malaysians are capable of competing and winning on an international stage.”

Sailendra said the congratulatory message for Yeoh will be displayed on the big screen for a week to celebrate her achievements.

Yeoh made history on Monday after becoming the first Malaysian and Asian to win the Actress in a Leading Role award at the Oscars.

The 60-year-old was honoured for her role in Everything Everywhere All at Once which took home a total of seven other awards including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Original Screenplay.
