KUALA LUMPUR, March 14 — Actress Uqasha Senrose shared that husband Kamal Adli has awakened from head surgery, after being attacked by a baton-wielding man on Sunday night.
Via an Instagram this morning, she shared that he will be undergoing a few x-ray scans for signs of any other injuries like broken bones or fractures.
The traumatised actress said that she couldn’t disclose their current whereabouts as instructed by the Singapore Police Force as the incident currently under investigation.
She added that they still don't know the motive behind the attack.
“The thing that still frightens me is that the man even threatened me and my whole family. He told me ‘just wait’ and that is what scares me the most, and the police had told us not to disclose our location.
“The man was really aiming for Kamal, he even asked my sister about Kamal (before the attack) and he is not ill or crazy.”
Uqasha advised her followers not to be quick to put the blame on Singaporeans in general.
She praised members of the public there who were quick to assist them following the attack and asked the public to pray for both her and her husband.
Uqasha’s post has been viewed over a million times and was flooded with well wishes from fellow celebrities and followers.
Meanwhile, celebrity entrepreneur, Roslan Shah via a TikTok live with Persatuan Seniman Malaysia president Zed Zaidi confirmed the expo organiser in Singapore has agreed to cover Kamal's medical bills, reported Utusan.
Roslan who was present at the three-day Hari Raya Mega Sale 2023 event at Hall 5A of the Singapore Expo, accompanied Uqasha to the hospital and to the police station to lodge a report.
According to Roslan, more than 10 Malaysian celebrities were involved with the event including Abby Abadi, Fauziah Latiff and Tya Arifin.
“Alhamdulillah, the organiser, is taking the incident seriously and has agreed to cover Kamal’s medical expenses at the hospital.
“I am also responsible in this matter as I was the one who brought all the celebrities there to the event,” he said.
Roslan added that he was outside of the hall during the incident and was surprised to see Kamal covered in blood as a result of the commotion.
“There were a lot of people who came during the evening. Just after 9pm when the event was ending, a man came (at their booth) and asked about Kamal’s whereabouts.
“The man who they thought was looking to get his photo taken with the actor, suddenly whipped out a steel baton and started striking Kamal at the back of his head multiple times until it bled,” Roslan said.
The 34-year-old attacker has been arrested by the Singapore Police Force and will be charged later today.
