KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 19 — She’s super preggers with sore feet and an aching back.
But that hasn’t stopped actress Sharifah Aryana Syed Zainal Rashid Al-Yahya from starting her own brand of skincare products.
“I'm not going to lie, it has been a huge shift,” the 27-year-old first time mum-to-be told Malay Mail.
“I am so thankful that my pregnancy has been mostly easy but it has definitely been a 180-degree shift in terms of my lifestyle, the way I work and my day-to-day priorities.”
Acting since the age of five, dipping her toes in the skincare world with the creation of Confidence Cosmetics has been daunting and very different from what she’s used to but so far response has been good.
It aims to deliver high quality products with nourishing and soothing ingredients at a good price point. Ingredients used are fragrant free and aren't sensitising, making it suitable for most skin types.
The day moisturiser with SPF 50++ doesn’t leave a white cast, in keeping with the brand’s core principle of being inclusive and diverse while still being accessible and affordable.
“That was one of my biggest goals!” said the Mukhsin actress. "Making sure my SPF products have no white cast because in Malaysia, we are a multiracial country and I always get complaints from my tanned friends about this.”
Already, the formulation of new products is underway as she wants to come up with a full range.
“Imagine a whole set of Confidence Cosmetics skincare and maybe down the line make-up, body products and baby products as well.
“I have so much more I want to achieve and I am just taking it all one step at a time.”
