KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 8 — The second marriage of actor and director Syamsul Yusof continues to dominate social media.

Both the 38-year-old filmmaker, who posted a video on his Instagram account about his marriage to 27-year-old actress Ira Kazar in Thailand, and his first wife, actress-model Puteri Sarah Liyana Megat Kamaruddin, 37, have remained mum since.

There, however, seems to be no end in sight to the controversy dominating conversations, with many around them affected by the whole episode.

Veteran actor Kazar Saisi, 63, who served as witness to Syamsul and his daughter’s nuptials in Thailand was not spared.

A scene from the season season of popular TV3 drama series 7 Hari Mencintaiku was reuploaded multiple times and shared by many.

The 45-second video initially uploaded on the Drama Sangat Facebook page that went viral, had the actor as Pak Samad, advising Adam, acted by Sean Lee on marriage.

His dialogue in the scene included lines like, “What wife would be happy if her husband marries another”, and another referencing how a wife needs not leave her husband if he marries another, “To achieve heaven for herself” saw many mock the actor.

Meanwhile actress Janna Nick, 27, caught the attention of many when she took to Instagram to vent.

While she did no name anyone, fans understood her rants as coming to the defence of her friend Puteri Sarah.

“As a friend of her, I’m fuming with this statement. Stop being manipulative,” she posted.

Branding ‘him’ a hypocrite, she said she had seen the her (the wife) take care of their children on her own.

“YOU THINK MONEY IS EVERYTHING. Is it????”
