KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 28 — A recent episode of India’s Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? has garnered local attention after they mentioned Malaysia’s prime minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in one of their questions.

Anwar’s international fame helped a senior project manager from Delhi, Nipun Rajan, win 640,000 rupees (RM34,180) after he answered a question regarding Malaysia's 10th prime minister correctly.

The episode which aired on December 23 has been circulating on local social media feeds.

The game show host, famous Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan was seen asking Nipun: “In which country, in 2022, was Anwar Ibrahim elected its prime minister?”

Amitabh then proceeded to list out the choice of answers being Iraq, Malaysia, Bahrain and Indonesia.

Nipun correctly chose Malaysia as the answer as he had read about Anwar online.

Ultimately, he managed to answer 11 out of the 17 questions and walked away with the 640,000 rupees after failing to answer the 12th question.
