KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 27 — Celebrity entrepreneur Noor Neelofa Mohd Noor has been slammed by some in the public and representative from Islamist group Ikatan Muslimin Malaysia (Isma) for holding a product launch in nightclub Zouk here last night.

Despite that, Neelofa shrugged off the comments, saying she now chooses to just ignore them.

“I made the decision to ignore public criticism regarding any issue, what is important I know what is being done,” Neelofa was quoted saying by BH Online.

The owner of headscarf brand Naelofar Hijab said the venue was chosen based on the budget and theme of the event.

“This will never end if I continue to respond to netizen’s anger. So this year, I choose not to take seriously what others say,” she added.

Neelofa had launched the latest range of her product called Be Lofa last night, along with her 29th birthday celebration.

Zouk KL regularly hosts product launches, especially in the beauty and fashion industry.

Despite that, some such as Rafidah Hanim Mokhtar who represents Islamist groups Isma and Wafiq accused Neelofa of “normalising” Muslim women with hijab attending nightclubs.
