LONDON, July 28 — Oscar-nominated director Alan Parker is to receive a special tribute from the British Film Institute (BFI) later this autumn.

It’s an event called “Focus on Sir Alan Parker”, which includes an on-stage discussion between Parker and producer David Puttnam in addition to screenings of “Midnight Express” and his 1976 debut film “Bugsy Malone”, Variety reports.

The event starts September 24 and runs until October 25 and gives participants a chance to explore Parker’s archives.

Parker was nominated for his movies “Midnight Express” and “Mississippi Burning”, and has decided to donate his entire working archive to the BFI National Archive. — AFP-Relaxnews
