LOS ANGELES, Nov 21 — Jennifer Aniston didn’t work out for two-and-a-half months.
The 45-year-old actress had to gain weight for her role in upcoming movie Cake. And she said that the best bit about the film was the fact that she was able to take a break from her usually strict diet and exercise regime.
“I basically just didn’t work out for two-and-a-half months. I stopped working out and I stopped being as careful about my diet as I normally am. I was still healthy, but I’d allow more.”
Jennifer is usually extremely strict about what she eats and how much she works out in order to maintain her famously svelte physique.
However, in Cake, she plays Claire Simmons, a woman who has a debilitating car accident, which leaves her with chronic pain.
Jennifer opened up about how she got into character for the role as she chatted to fans at a screening of the new film at the American Cinematheque on Wednesday night.
Speaking to her Horrible Bosses 2 co-star Jason Bateman, who hosted the screening, at the event, Jennifer said it was also somewhat refreshing to not have to worry about her hair and makeup.
“That’s a by-product of the character,” Jennifer said. “I’ve said it before: It’s very refreshing.”
“There’s a level of fearlessness. I think that you have to be able to sort of go, ‘F*** it, I’m ready to just disappear.’ “
To complete her transformation into Claire, the makeup team gave Jennifer fake scars.
However, Jennifer said it took a lot of testing before they got the look right.
“There was a big concern with the scars,” Jennifer said. “We did a lot of experimenting and we had an extraordinary makeup artist make these scars for us. We did some trials, some scar test days. Oh, if you could have seen some of the pictures, it looked like Chainsaw Massacre kind of stuff, you know? Like Freddy Kruger.”
“And by the end, I didn’t even notice they were there. And I also thought they were... I don’t know, I thought they were kind of beautiful.” — Cover Media
