KLANG, Oct 21 — Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has invested RM2.2 million to establish South-east Asia’s first and only Mercedes-AMG ONE Service Hub at Hap Seng Star Bukit Tinggi, reinforcing Malaysia’s position as a regional centre for specialised automotive services.
Mercedes-Benz Cars Malaysia president and chief executive officer Martin Schulz said the investment reflected the company’s confidence in Malaysia’s technical expertise and strategic location.
“Malaysia already serves as a strategic hub for Mercedes-Benz. Establishing South-east Asia’s first and only Mercedes-AMG ONE Service Hub adds a new dimension to this role, reinforcing our confidence in the country’s talent and capabilities while strengthening our commitment to owners across the wider Asia-Pacific region.
“The Mercedes-AMG ONE is the ultimate expression of Formula One technology brought to the road. Such extraordinary engineering demands an equally specialised service ecosystem,” he said during a question-and-answer session after the facility’s official launch at Hap Seng Star Bukit Tinggi today.
Schulz, who is also head of region for Mercedes-Benz Cars South-east Asia, said the facility would further strengthen Malaysia’s role as a regional automotive service hub.
He said the Malaysian centre was part of an exclusive international network spanning Germany, Switzerland, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait and Japan. Its location and Malaysia’s logistics infrastructure and transport connectivity would enable it to serve hypercar owners across the region.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia and South-east Asia vice-president of customer services and network development Edmin Naidoo said the centre was purpose-built to meet the Mercedes-AMG ONE’s specialised engineering and servicing requirements.
“Equipped with factory-grade technical infrastructure from Affalterbach, the centre features specialised high-voltage tools, customised diagnostic systems, controlled storage conditions and direct technical links with Mercedes-AMG specialists in Germany.
“To handle the vehicle’s unique engineering requirements, the workshop has an advanced hoist system anchored two metres underground and designed to support 1.6 tonnes. Its fully soundproofed workshop bays can also contain engine noise reaching up to 120 decibels,” he said.
The facility’s specialised equipment and diagnostic systems are designed to ensure that all servicing meets Mercedes-AMG’s stringent technical standards.
Hap Seng Consolidated Automotive Division chief executive Lee Weng Yew said technicians at the Malaysian centre had undergone intensive training certified directly by Mercedes-AMG.
“They are also supported by dedicated “Flying Doctors”, who provide real-time diagnostic reports and technical assistance to ensure comprehensive maintenance for owners across South-east Asia,” he added. — Bernama
