KUALA LUMPUR, July 3 — CelcomDigi Bhd today launched the CelcomDigi MY5G Series with the MY5G CEO Roundtable 2023, aiming to help businesses realise “the true potential” of 5G in Malaysia.

In a statement, the mobile network operator said the roundtable series covers actionable insights on how leading global businesses have leveraged the power of 5G and enabling technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of things to digitalise business for growth and transform industries in leading markets.

The series was held in collaboration with CelcomDigi’s strategic partners and global technology enablers, namely Axiata, Telenor, Capgemini, Ericsson, Huawei, Kearney, Microsoft, and ZTE.

CelcomDigi chief executive officer Datuk Idham Nawawi said as the nation intensifies the rollout of 5G access, it is crucial to also step up the development of a robust 5G ecosystem in the country.

“This takes close collaboration and engagement among businesses across various industries, to drive 5G enablement in Malaysia and support the nation’s digital agenda.

“We look forward to working closely with businesses to unlock the potential of 5G and in turn deliver more value and benefits to all consumers,” he said.

Meanwhile, chief enterprise business officer Afizulazha Abdullah said following the launch of the CelcomDigi MY5G Series, the company will also introduce a larger-scale 5G business conference and tech showcase in Kuala Lumpur in the coming months.

This, he said, will continue its effort in helping businesses realise the benefits of digitalisation as well as 5G adoption and applications.

“We have already collaborated with some of our large enterprise clients to run several 5G pilot use cases and have seen the prospects of how 5G-powered solutions can help to digitalise and fundamentally transform operations and way of work to achieve better productivity and outcomes for their businesses, their customers, as well as their employees,” he added. — Bernama
