KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 18 ― Bursa Malaysia pared down gains at mid-morning amid mild buying momentum.
At 11.02am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia (FBM KLCI) gained 3.65 points to 1,389.92 from yesterday's close of 1,386.27. The key index opened 6.65 points higher at 1,392.92.
On the broader market, gainers led losers 377 to 257, while 307 counters were unchanged, 1,409 untraded and seven others suspended.
Total volume stood at 1.01 billion units worth RM504.86 million.
Among the heavyweights, IHH Healthcare jumped 10 sen to RM5.96, MISC was flat at RM7.02, Maybank shed three sen to RM8.49, Public Bank and CIMB eased two sen each to RM4.18 and RM5.28, respectively, and Petronas Chemicals fell one sen to RM5.28.
Of the actives, Careplus added two sen to 43.5 sen, Hong Seng Consolidated increased six sen to 28 sen, HLT Global rose 3.5 sen to 30 sen, Widad went up two sen to 44 sen, Supermax fell two sen to 88.5 sen, and Top Glove eased one sen to 73 sen.
On the index board, the FBM Emas Index advanced 36.35 points to 9,900.41, the FBM 70 earned 85.19 points to 11,917.73, the FBMT 100 Index was firmer by 35.67 points to 9,649.50, the FBM Emas Shariah Index lifted 75.39 points to 9,928.53, and the FBM ACE garnered 36.04 points to 4,717.81.
Sector-wise, the Financial Services Index trimmed 51.16 points to 15,864.74, while the Industrial Products and Services Index gained 0.40 of-a-point to 169.95, the Plantation Index perked 80.26 points to 6,485.72, and the Energy Index was 2.14 points higher at 667.18. ― Bernama
