KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 28 — Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and BN secretary-general Datuk Seri Zambry Abd Kadir met MCA president Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong at the Parliament building today, believed to be over seat allocation ahead of the Melaka state election.
The three leaders were seen entering the Members of Parliament Block at about 12.20pm amid a dispute over the announcement of BN candidates for the polls.
Meanwhile, Ahmad Zahid, who is also deputy prime minister, uploaded a photograph of himself with the two leaders on Facebook, accompanied by a brief caption suggesting a positive outcome from the meeting.
“Don’t worry. All is well. Kita Geng Biru (We are the Blue Gang),” he wrote in the post.
However, as of now, there has been no official confirmation of the matters discussed or any decisions reached during the meeting.
MCA leaders are also understood to be scheduled to hold a meeting at Wisma MCA this afternoon following the meeting.
At the BN candidate announcement ceremony for the Melaka state election in Ayer Keroh on October 24, Wee had questioned the event, claiming that it was held without MCA’s consent. He also stressed that MCA did not recognise the announcement as the party had not agreed to the list of candidates announced. — Bernama
