MELAKA, Aug 16 — Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) will strengthen its communication strategy, particularly in information dissemination, to ensure the government’s messages are conveyed more clearly to the public.

PKR Information Chief, who is also Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil, said the move followed several proposals raised by delegates at the ongoing PKR National Congress 2026 at the Melaka International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITC), Ayer Keroh.

“This is important (to strengthen information dissemination and communication). Many have said that despite various government efforts and achievements, especially those related to macroeconomic matters, these have yet to be translated into improvements felt at the household level.

“This is among the key messages for me, the Communications Ministry, as well as in my capacity as Information Chief and Communications Director of Pakatan Harapan,” he told reporters after visiting the media room during the congress here today.

Fahmi said several views and planned changes related to information dissemination and communication proposals would be presented during the winding-up session tomorrow.

“I remain open to these views and appreciate the willingness of branch leaders who have expressed their commitment to play a greater role in disseminating information.

“Such a channel has existed before, but perhaps a more formal arrangement is needed to ensure issues at the parliamentary level can be brought to our attention in Putrajaya and solutions can be worked out,” he said.

Fahmi said the party’s Central Leadership Council (MPP) was receptive to all proposals raised by delegates and would lead the transformation by making changes within the party’s own leadership first. — Bernama
