KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 9 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim visited Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Amar Fadillah Yusof and former prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, who are both receiving treatment at the National Heart Institute (IJN), yesterday.

In a Facebook post today, Anwar said he made the visits with his wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

“Azizah and I pray that both of them are granted a speedy recovery, that all aspects of their treatment are eased, and that they continue to be blessed with good health and strength to continue serving the people and the country, insya-Allah,” he said.

Fadillah’s office announced on August 3 that he would undergo heart bypass surgery at IJN on the advice of medical specialists, with his condition then reported to be stable.

Ismail Sabri, meanwhile, was admitted to IJN on August 6 after experiencing health issues while having his statement recorded at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission headquarters.

He underwent a successful leadless pacemaker implantation procedure for an abnormal heart rhythm the following day and remained under close monitoring at IJN.
