KUCHING, Aug 7 — Serian recorded the highest unhealthy reading on the Air Pollutant Index (API) in Sarawak as of noon today, with a reading of 162.
According to data from the Department of Environment’s Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS), this was followed by Samarahan at 140 and Kuching at 139.
Three districts in Sarawak are now recording unhealthy API readings, consisting of Serian, Samarahan and Kuching.
Other districts in Sarawak records moderate readings, ranging from 57 to 91.
An API reading between 101 and 200 is categorised as unhealthy and may pose health risks to sensitive groups, including children, the elderly, and individuals with respiratory conditions. — The Borneo Post
