KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 16 — Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain personally assisted a motorcyclist who was injured in a three-vehicle accident immediately in front of his approaching entourage on the Kuala Lumpur-Seremban Highway this morning.

According to Kuala Lumpur’s Chief of Traffic Investigation and Enforcement ACP Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa, the accident occurred at approximately 8.25am, and involved two cars and a motorcycle heading towards the city centre.

Initial investigations revealed that the incident began when a Honda Civic travelling in the far-right lane was rear-ended by a motorcycle. The impact caused the rider to lose control, subsequently colliding with the rear of a Mazda CX-3 SUV.

“The accident occurred along the route of the convoy of vehicles belonging to the Inspector-General of Police,” he said in a statement.

“Upon witnessing the incident, Tan Sri immediately stopped and stepped out to provide initial assistance to the victim involved in the accident before traffic assistance arrived at the scene. The victim, a 56-year-old Malay motorcyclist, sustained injuries to his left ankle and right hand.”

Both car drivers involved in the accident have filed police reports, while the injured motorcyclist remains under medical care.

Authorities are continuing their investigations to determine the cause of the collision.
