PUTRAJAYA, Aug 7 — Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali’s replacement as the Chief Secretary to the Government will be announced today, Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said.
The government spokesman said the announcement would be made via a statement this afternoon.
Shortly after Fahmi’s announcement, Putrajaya released a statement saying His Majesty the King, Sultan Ibrahim, has consented to the appointment of Datuk Seri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar to the post.
The Prime Minister’s Department said the announcement will take effect on August 12.
Zuki’s contract will expire on August 10, ending the two-year extension he received upon reaching the mandatory retirement age in 2022.
