KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 14 — The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) will call the Ministry of Defence (Mindef) for the latest update on the progress of the Littoral Combatant Ship (LCS) Construction Project for the month of June until August this year.
PAC chairman Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin said the committee had finalised one report on the project.
“PAC had heard the progress regarding the LCS project for the period from October 2022 to May 2023 on June 10 this year. Mindef will explain the update for the period of June until August on October 3.
“So far, we have finalised reports on two projects. Both reports are expected to be presented in the first week of the third parliamentary meeting,” she said during a press conference here in the lobby of the Dewan Rakyat.
The two reports are the Progress Report on the Generation Patrol Ship Construction Project Second — Littoral Combatant Ship (LCS) for the Royal Navy Malaysia under the Ministry of Defence for the October Term 2022 to May 2023; and the Report on the Concession Agreement, Social Obligation Receipt and Payment Management of the National Rice and Rice Industry under the Ministry Agriculture and Food Security.
