KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 23 — The Inland Revenue Board (IRB) has frozen the bank accounts of a senior Opposition politician and his family, said sources.
According to The Star, the sources said the accounts were frozen today.
“Yes it happened, but he is not bothered by it. I am sure he has alternatives, hence why he is not worried about the frozen accounts," one source quoted as saying.
The IRB reportedly declined to comment on the action, and directed questions to the politician instead.
The report added that the accounts were frozen as part of a Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) investigation against the politician.
