KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 7 — Pakatan Harapan (PH) no longer has the same grip that it used to have in Selangor, state Perikatan Nasional (PN) chief Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali has reportedly claimed.

Azmin, who is also a former Selangor menteri besar told Malay daily Sinar Harian in an interview that voters’ dissatisfaction towards the state administration has started to spread among urbanites.

“Selangor is no longer a comfortable zone for PH, DAP and Umno because the wave of discontent of the people has reached the urban areas which can no longer be stopped by the authorities.

“They can influence voters but I am confident in the wisdom of Selangor voters,” he was quoted as saying.

He also said he is confident that Selangor voters will be on PN’s side come polling day this week,

Azmin further said that the voters of Selangor should not be left out and should be the leading economic force on a national level.

“Selangor is a developed state, I am sure the people do not want to be left behind in their efforts to increase their contribution to the national economy,” he added.

Touted to be the PN candidate for Selangor menteri besar, Azmin will go against Pakatan Harapan (PH) Juwairiya Zulkifli in Hulu Kelang for the state election.

Selangor has 56 state seats and PN is contesting all of them.

Polling day is on August 12 while early voting is on August 8.
