KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 7 — Despite having the anti-party hopping law in place to prevent politicians from switching sides, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) deputy president Ahmad Faizal Azumu said that the government can still be replaced.

According to news portal Free Malaysia Today, Ahmad Faizal said there are still ways to replace both federal and state governments.

“There is a legal process that can be taken to change a government, as well as the state government,” Ahmad Faizal, or known as “Peja” was quoted as saying.

However, Peja did not elaborate further on how to change the government even if Perikatan Nasional (PN) wins all six states this August 12.

Previously, Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil said that political stability at the central level will not be compromised because there will be no changes regardless of the outcome of the August 12 state elections.

Despite that, PN leaders have continued to play up the issue and repeatedly tell their voters that the state elections is a referendum on the people’s acceptance of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim-led administration.
