GEORGE TOWN, July 29 — Penang Pakatan Harapan (PH) and its state counterpart in Barisan Nasional (BN) will be launching a unity manifesto this August 1, said the former’s chairman Chow Kon Yeow.

The Penang DAP chairman said PH and BN will also introduce all 40 candidates in Penang during that event to be held at 9pm at Butterworth Arena.

“We will launch a unity manifesto for the first time that contains input from both PH and BN,” he said in a press conference at Penang DAP headquarters here.

He said the manifesto will be presented as the unity state government’s promises to the people if they retained the state administration.

He said all 40 candidates to be presented that night will also be known as unity candidates.

Chow said they will also present the achievements of the PH state government in fulfilling its 2018 manifesto.

As per DAP’s tradition in every election, he said the party will be holding its first “ceramah” to introduce all 19 DAP candidates tonight at the Penang Chinese Town Hall and to kick off the election campaign.

Chow said there will also be a Jelajah Madani by the federal unity government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

He said Anwar, along with other national unity leaders, are expected to come to Penang on August 5th.

“It will be held in two places, in Seberang Perai and on the island too,” he said.

He later launched DAP’s deer mascot, “Jaguh”, which will be sold in a limited edition plastic figurine at RM80 each.

Six state elections including Penang, Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu, Selangor and Negri Sembilan will be held on August 12.
