KUALA LUMPUR, July 17 — Caretaker Kedah menteri besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor is scheduled to be charged in court tomorrow.
According to the courts’ e-filing system, Sanusi is set to appear before Selayang Sessions Court judge Osman Affendi Mohd Shalleh at 9am.
Sanusi is also expected to appear before another Sessions Court judge, Nor Rajiah Mat Zin, at the same court complex, indicating that there will be at least two charges against him.
While the filings do not state the charges to be proffered against Sanusi, the Kedah PAS leader was recently investigated over his remarks criticising the Sultan of Selangor for appointing Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari as his menteri besar.
Earlier today, the Selangor Royal Office said the matter between Sanusi and state monarch Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah was not considered resolved.
This came after Sultan Sharafuddin granted an audience to Selangor PAS commissioner Datuk Ahmad Yunus Hairi and the state police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan at Istana Bukit Kayangan here.
Sanusi, who is also Perikatan Nasional elections director, has issued an apology to the Selangor Sultan and claimed that his remarks — which were shown in videos online — were taken out of context by his political rivals.
PN is competing against the “unity government” formed last November by PH and Barisan Nasional, among others, in the state elections involving Selangor, Penang, Negeri Sembilan, Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu on August 12.
