GEORGE TOWN, June 29 — A five-member panel will be meeting soon to decide on potential candidates to represent DAP in the coming state elections, the state party chairman Chow Kon Yeow said.

He said the five-person candidate selection panel completed interviews with the party’s incumbent assemblymen in Penang yesterday.

The selection panel consisted of Chow, State Deputy Chairman Professor P. Ramasamy, two vice-chairmen Jagdeep Singh Deo and Zairil Khir Johari, and State Secretary Lim Hui Ying.

“This list will then be forwarded to the DAP Central Executive Committee (CEC) for consideration and decision,” Chow said in a statement today.

The Penang Pakatan Harapan chairman said only the CEC can announce the final list of candidates.

“Party members, supporters, and voters are urged not to trust any list of candidates circulating on social media as those are fake,” he said.

The Penang legislative assembly was dissolved yesterday paving the way for the state elections which is expected to be held concurrently with five other states in August.
