IPOH, June 28 — A married couple who have been distributing drugs disguised in instant drink packages was arrested after police raided their drug storage at a house in Jalan Medan Ipoh here on Monday.
Perak police chief Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said that the husband, 39 and his Chinese national wife, 37, have been actively distributing drugs in Perak since 2021.
“Various modus operandi have been used by this couple to avoid being caught by the authorities and the recent one was by packaging the drugs in instant drinks packages,” he told a press conference at the Perak Police Headquarters here this morning.
Mohd Yusri said that police also raided another house in the same area following the initial investigation on the couple.
“Police raided the first house on June 26 at around 7.45pm. We seized 8.5 grams of ketamine drugs, eight ecstasy pills weighing about 3.3 grammes, five erimin pills weighing about 1.35 grammes and ecstasy in the form of powder weighing 22.4 grammes.

“Police have also seized one vehicle worth around RM40,000 and cash amounting to RM1,200,” he said.
He said the unemployed couple were remanded for seven days from June 27 to July 3.
