KUALA TERENGGANU, June 18 — Terengganu PKR is optimistic that it can wrest several seats in the upcoming Terengganu state election, party vice-president Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said.
The Terengganu and Kelantan PKR state council chairman said this was based on its past track record, demographic factors as well as surveys and research done.
“So we ask that Keadilan (PKR), in particular, is taken seriously by our friends in Barisan Nasional (BN)... We also have a history in Terengganu from the beginning of our establishment, for us it is important that we have a presence here. We understand the views voiced by the grassroots because they want PKR to continue to have a foothold in Terengganu.
“To me, Keadilan has some advantages in general, I can’t mention the details, but for example, the Bandar seat (PKR) had been previously won (2013-2018).
“Usually, Keadilan’s seat is quite urban... that’s what we think is Keadilan’s strength,” he said after a meet-and-greet session at the PKR Kuala Terengganu division office here today.
Meanwhile, he said seat allocation negotiations between Pakatan Harapan (PH) and BN for the state elections are expected to completed within a week or two. — Bernama
