GEORGE TOWN, June 17 — The Pakatan Harapan-Barisan Nasional federal government should stop unilateral political prosecution against Opposition leaders, said Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

The Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia president said the recent raid on Opposition leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin’s home by the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) was politically motivated.

“I don’t see any reason why,” he said when asked to comment on the raid after launching the Perikatan Nasional election machinery here.

“In my case also, it is all politically motivated,” he said.

“Unless people have done wrong, it is a different matter,” he said.

He said it is not fair for the government to take action against their political opponents for their own political gain.

Hamzah’s home was raided by IRB's investigators on Tuesday.

It was earlier reported the raid at Hamzah’s house was due to income he failed to declare.

The PN secretary-general is the latest PN leader to be investigated over alleged financial irregularities.

Muhyiddin is already on trial for corruption and former Bersatu information chief Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan was charged over the government’s Jana Wibawa scheme.
