KUCHING, May 27 — All federal and state government departments and agencies in Sarawak are hoped to nurture the spirit of nationalism through the organising of programmes in conjunction with National Day and Malaysia Day (HKHM) this year.

State Deputy Utilities and Telecommunications Minister Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi said the organisation of such programmes can be held at the organsationnal or community level.

“I also urge that we include the HKHM logo and theme as a trademark in all National Month celebration programmes and in related every promotion, campaign and activity.

“With promotion through traditional or social media, it will have a big impact on spreading the real meaning of the HKHM celebrations,” he said during the Sarawak level HKHM 2023 theme and logo launch here today.

“Malaysia Madani: Tekad Perpaduan Penuhi Harapan” was chosen as the HKHM celebration theme this year.

The theme reflects the determination and commitment of leaders along with Malaysians to ensure the country is one with a high spirit of unity, living in peace and prosperity.

Dr Abdul Rahman also urged Sarawakians to fly the Jalur Gemilang at home and in public areas in conjunction with the HKHM celebrations.

“We want to remind Malaysians, especially youth, that flying the Jalur Gemilang is not just a form of decoration but to spur the love of our country,” he added. — Bernama
