TUMPAT, April 15 — Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) has approved an allocation of RM56,000 to install two water pumps at the Mara Junior Science College (MRSM) in Tumpat.

MARA chairman Datuk Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said the allocation was approved immediately to deal with the never-ending water problems which disrupted the daily life of students at the school.

“Water supply disruptions have been happening since 2012, and this needs to be resolved immediately,” he told reporters after an engagement session with MRSM Tumpat employees here today.

Asyraf Wajdi said the new water pumps are for the use of around 1,000 consumers, including staff and 840 students at the school.

“These water pumps can indirectly help the state government resolve the water issue.

“Apart from MRSM Tumpat, the same problem also occurs in MRSM Pasir Tumboh, and I will visit the school to see what needs to be done to overcome the water problem,” he said. — Bernama
