KUALA LUMPUR, April 13 — An aide to Human Resources Minister V. Sivakumar has been arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) over alleged corruption involving foreign worker recruitment, according to news reports.

The aide was arrested together with a recruitment agent, according to English language daily The Star.

It further reported that the arrest could be over quota for recruiting foreign workers, which was the purview of the Human Resources Ministry.

Separately, The Vibes news portal reported MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki as confirming the arrest of a minister’s aide.
