KUALA LUMPUR, March 1 — Perikatan Nasional (PN) has extended an invitation to former Ketereh MP Tan Sri Annuar Musa to join the political coalition after the latter expressed a wish to return to politics following his sacking by Umno in December last year.
PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang likened the former minister as one who is distinguished in his leadership.
“He will make his own decision. We welcome it,” Abdul Hadi was quoted as saying by Sinar Harian.
On Monday, Annuar said he was considering joining a new political party three months after he was sacked.
The former Umno secretary-general said he is “seriously thinking” about choosing a party that matches his political values of “protecting Islam, the Malays and the country”.
A member of Umno since 1979, Annuar was dropped from Barisan Nasional’s lineup in the November general election.
He had been a vocal critic of Umno president Ahmad Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi when he was still in the party.
