KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 27 — The coalition government led by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has no time to daydream but must knuckle down to strengthen unity in the country instead, Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub said ahead of its 100th day anniversary this Saturday.

“This includes daydreaming of building family or personal wealth and strength. The Madani government and the public must build the nation together,” the domestic trade and cost of living minister was quoted by local daily Sinar Harian as saying in a speech to young entrepreneurs at Politeknik Ibrahim Sultan in Pasir Gudang, Johor yesterday.

The Anwar administration will be marking its first 100 days in power on March 4. The 100-day yardstick has conventionally been used as a barometer of the ruling coalition’s strength and popularity.

A recent survey by social engagement centre O2 Malaysia found 25 per cent of the 35,077 Malaysians polled to be satisfied with the Anwar government on the whole.

The same survey also identified the 10 most outstanding federal Cabinet members.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke topped the list with 49 per cent Malaysians polled giving him the thumbs-up, followed by 40 per cent of votes for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who is also finance minister.

Sinar Harian reported Salahuddin as saying that he has yet to scrutinise the survey but believed that the public is confident in Anwar’s leadership in leading the unity government and the country.
