BESTARI JAYA, Feb 9 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said today he would leave the investigations into the leakages and inefficiencies of University Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Holdings to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

“That... I'll leave it to MACC,” he said briefly when met at Universiti Selangor campus here.

UiTM Holdings have suffered RM157 million in losses over the past four years and have not submitted its financial records for 2020.

Based on documents obtained from the Companies Commission of Malaysia, it was reported that the company, established in 2007, had up to RM26 million in profits in 2011, 2014, 2015 and 2016.

Yesterday, UiTM confirmed that the MACC is currently investigating the firn for alleged inefficiency and leakages that led to them suffering RM157 million in losses.

Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin also welcomed MACC’s investigations into the matter adding that the ministry will review and improve the guidelines that have been set regarding the management of university holding companies as well as measure the compliance of related companies.

UiTM Holdings Sdn Bhd is a wholly-owned investment holding company of UiTM, currently managing eight active subsidiaries with operations spanning four business divisions: Energy, Healthcare, Technology and Creative.
