SHAH ALAM, Jan 26 — The Selangor government, through the Selangor Land and Mines Office will review the construction of resorts on agricultural land throughout the state.

Its director Yusri Zakariah said this would be carried out in a committee with several related agencies under the purview of the Selangor State Economic Planning Unit.

He said the parties would give their views and a new policy with regard to the construction of commercial buildings on agricultural land would be issued

“Apart from Batang Kali, several areas in Kalumpang, Hulu Selangor and around Hulu Langat have a lot of agricultural lands used to run homestays while selling agricultural produce cultivated on them.

“In terms of the position of the land, the local authority and the District and Land Office can determine the condition of the land, whether it is good or not,” he said after a handover ceremony following renovations of the Selangor Land and Mines Office here today.

On Dec 21 last year, State Local Government, Public Transport and New Village Development Standing Committee chairman Ng Sze Han said Father’s Organic Farm in Batang Kali, Hulu Selangor only had planning permission to carry out organic farming activities.
