KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 19 — Former Education director-general Datuk Dr Amin Senin has been appointed as National Education Advisory Council (NEAC) chairman for the 2023-2025 session.

The Ministry of Education (KPM) in a statement said Amin’s vast experience in the education field, together with the support of eight other NEAC members will be able to present profound ideas in steering the country's education sector towards educational reform, integration and democratisation.

“The excessive level of teacher workload will be the council’s main focus as they will have to examine the issue before coming up with the best solution for the consideration of the minister,” read the statement.

Prof Datuk Dr Mohamad Fauzan Noordin was appointed as deputy chairman while the other council members include Prof Dr Omar Yaakob, Datuk Dr Mehander Singh Nahar Singh, Prof Datuk Dr Noor Inayah Ya'akub, Mohd Abd Aziz Mahmud, Aminuddin Awang, Rusilawati Mohd Salleh and Chee Poh Kiem.
