KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 4 — The police have arrested a couple in their 30s over the alleged murder of a 28-year-old man with an explosive package in Pandan Indah, Ampang last month.

Confirming the arrests, acting Selangor police deputy chief commissioner Datuk S. Sasikala Devi said the husband and wife were picked up in Serdang, Kedah last night.

She added that the arrest was made at a residential area around 7.20pm.

"The police believe the duo's arrest will assist the authorities in their ongoing investigations," she said in a statement here.

She said the suspects have been remanded for seven days and the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

On December 29, a waiter at a restaurant in Pandan Indah was killed by an explosion after he inspected a package placed on the bonnet of his car.

The 28-year-old male victim had gone to inspect the package and it exploded as he reached for it.

The victim sustained severe injuries and succumbed to his injuries at the Ampang Hospital.
