JOHOR BARU, Dec 30 — Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Iskandar today granted an audience to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at Istana Bukit Serene here today on his first working visit to the state.

This is the second time that the prime minister has been granted an audience with Sultan Ibrahim.

Anwar arrived at the palace at about 10.30am after arriving at the Senai International Airport in Kulai here.

Earlier, he was greeted by Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi upon his arrival at the Senai Business Aviation Terminal of the Senai International Airport at 9.55am.

This is Anwar’s second audience with Sultan Ibrahim and his first official visit to the state after being appointed as prime minister on November 24.

Anwar, who is also the Tambun MP, later arrived at the Azo 96 Murtabak stall in Kampung Melayu Majidee here.

He was met by state government officials and party members.

The Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman is expected to perform Friday prayers at the Kampung Melayu Majidee Mosque here before returning to the capital.

The last time Anwar visited Johor Baru was during the 15th general election campaign last November.
