KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 7 — The Cabinet’s main focus will remain on issues affecting Malaysians’ welfare and the economy until these are resolved, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said today.

In a brief Facebook post, Anwar said he conveyed this to his ministers at the weekly Cabinet meeting held earlier today, which he added went smoothly and productively.

“I stressed that issues concerning the people, especially cost of living, must be given attention and resolved at the earliest,” he said.

Anwar also said the list of deputy ministers will be finalised soon, without specifying a time frame.

Anwar’s new Cabinet line-up consists of 28 ministers and two deputy prime ministers, in which he also holds the finance portfolio.
